Bumpass Hell

On Saturday my dad and sister joined me as we took a drive from Redding to Lassen Volcanic National Park. It was a beautiful drive to get there. We had driven it the night before coming into Redding but we did not get to enjoy the scenery as we did today. It was a windey road that took us to the top and to the beginning of the trail that led to Bumpass Hell. The hydrothermal area was named after a man who worked as a guide who was a who had fallen in and burnt his leg badly. It was a 3 mile round trip hike at 8500 ft. in elevation. We had to take a few breaks, we weren't accustomed to the elevation and had a little shortness of breath. I will post some pictures for all of you.
